I was married in August 2008, and Jan was someone I could count on for numerous things. I originally went to Jan because a company I had used messed up my save-the-dates terribly. My thought was if they could do that to my save-the-dates, I sure wasn't going to trust them with my invitations! I found Jan through Crane & Co., and she was super-friendly and willing to help out with whatever I needed. She took on the few things I needed done stat so I was able to get my envelopes out in the mail right away. She blew me away with her friendly and professional manner. Once I had to call Jan in a panic at 11pm, and she again was right there to help me out!

Now knowing that this woman "Jan" could basically handle any of my demanding needs, I had her do some odds and ends as the wedding approached. She created a gorgeous setup for my table cards, designed my menu, and created some tags I needed for gifts. If I knew then what I know now, I would have used Jan for my entire wedding coordination. Since my wedding a year and a half ago, I have called on Jan for other things, and more importantly her friendship. How many people can say they found a friend in a vendor?! Thanks, Jan, for making our day special, and for being you.

From the moment Jan stepped in I felt like an enormous weight had been lifted from my shoulders. To her credit, Jan had to establish working relationships with a multitude of vendors in a very limited time frame and she had to deal with contracts that I had already begun to negotiate. Anyone who has been involved in wedding planning knows how hard it is to step in when so many decisions have already been made, but Jan handled everything seamlessly with her typical grace and poise. She was polite and professional with everyone but she also knew when to push back, and how to do it diplomatically and with minimal drama. I am a perfectionist by nature (which is one of the reasons I was wary of having a coordinator to begin with) so it's a real testament to Jan's talents that I was able to relax and let her handle even the most important of details.

The end result was far beyond my (admittedly high) expectations. In fact, when the wedding was over, I found myself really missing the multiple conversations we had each day — not only is Jan organized and efficient but she is also clever and fun and has a terrific sense of humor so she's just the kind of person you want around you in a stressful situation. I have no doubt that Jan will drastically improve any wedding that she's involved in!

When Jan signs onto a project, she doesn't just write what is dictated; she provides much-needed input. For my 30th, I had inadvertently proposed an awkward wording for my invitation. Jan quickly came to the rescue. Not since Strunk & White has there been such an expert grammarian!

But it is her penmanship where she truly excels. I asked her to create three copies of my best man speech for my brother's wedding so that I could frame and give them as presents. Each recipient told me that they thought it was almost machine-made, it was that perfect.

However, it was at our wedding where we found out just how dedicated Jan is. After the fact (from doing individual, personalized invitations, place cards, menus, and favor cards), I learned that Jan was scheduled to have thumb-joint replacement surgery on her writing hand shortly after the wedding. She never complained, and she still did a flawless job. In fact, we had many guests tell us that it was the most beautiful calligraphy they had ever seen.

It is without hesitation that we recommend Jan Garver and her services. Anyone who appreciates attention to detail will LOVE this woman. We could not be happier with the way she made each of our events that much better.

Every single tiny detail was both carefully thought out and beautifully executed. From the elegant calligraphy of the invitations, programs, table cards and seating assignments to the roses and favors at Tavern on the Green, it was not only gorgeously done, but done with genuine loving care.

Obviously, this was not the easiest wedding to coordinate, what with half of the guests flying in from England, and the other half from all over the country! But you handled everything with such ease and such perfect timing that all of our guests felt cared for all of the time. Even the Catering Director from Tavern on the Green commented on at your excellent coordination, sense of style, and presentation.

For us, it's impossible to say what we would have been like on the day of the wedding had you not been the planner. From my panic about losing the rings (How cliché!), to your making certain that Dina had plenty of time and space to prepare...well, you just thought of absolutely EVERYTHING. It's simple. We will never be able to thank you enough.
